Thoth was one of the most significant and multifaceted deities in ancient Egyptian mythology. He was often depicted with the head of an ibis, a bird associated with wisdom and precision, or sometimes as a baboon, another sacred animal linked to intelligence and the moon. Thoth was deeply respected as the god of wisdom, writing, language, magic, science, mathematics, and the moon. His influence touched almost every aspect of Egyptian spiritual and intellectual life.

Thoth was believed to be the inventor of hieroglyphic writing and was considered the divine scribe.
