Gaia Statue

Known as Gaia or Gaea, she is the Greek goddess of the earth and the living embodiment of the land itself. Her name means “earth” or “land,” reflecting her role as the ancestral mother who gave birth to all life. Gaia brought forth Uranus (the sky), the Titans, the Giants, and the Cyclopes, shaping the world’s earliest beings. The Roman equivalent of Gaia is Terra, and every culture has its own Earth goddess—like the Inca’s Pachamama. Gaia is the soul of the earth, a nurturing mother who provides life and sustenance to all creatures. In ancient times, she was revered as the giver and sustainer of life, the one who creates and nourishes us, and to whom all return in death.
