Mayan religion was integrated into their daily life activities. The Mayans worshiped many gods, built temples to house images of supernatural beings, developed complex theologies of spirit and matter, and envisioned a world permeated by living essences.The gods were worshipped with a variety of practices, including preparing food without salt and chilli, periods of celibacy, abstaining from meat, fasting, praying and burning incense, offerings of flowers and fragrant herbs. Mayans believed that the world was created and destroyed in a cyclical manner and atthe end of each cycle gods destroyed the world to create it anew.
